The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
